Wellington:
Once known as Val du Charron or Wagenmakersvallei (Valley of the Wagon Maker) the town name was changed to Wellington after 1840 in honour of the renowned soldier and conqueror of Napoleon at the battle of Waterloo.
Nestling at the foot of the Groenberg, with the Hawequa mountains towering above the town, Haaskraal offers exhilarating mountain bike and walking trails.
Wellington is also the centre of the Vine growing Industry. Almost all the vine material is produced here because of the superb weather and good soils. Wine enthusiasts can visit one of the cellars on the Wellington Wine Route and taste their products in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
